VBS + Kids = Food for a Year

One of the places that we support is a school in Nicaragua called Colegio Academia Cristiana Ciudad Dario. Over the last couple of weeks with all the political unrest that has been going on in Nicaragua they have had their food supply completely cut off.

To put it in perspective, during the school year, they provide a meal for 380 kids every day as well as food for the staff. This also provides jobs for two cooks to make the meals each day. Total cost per month is right around $400.

I gave a challenge to our Christian Life Mennonite Church Vacation Bible School kids that any money they raise this week,Better Life Coffee would match dollar for dollar.

These kids blew my mind. I was thinking maybe $1800 or so but they raised a whopping $2800 dollars in just 3 nights.

I am so impressed with their attitude and determination to help out kids in Nicaragua. It is truly amazing and we are blessed to have kids who are joyful givers.
